IVONNE HERCIA
Ivonne Hercia is the artist, Pearl specialist and Applied Jewelry Professional who created Ivonne Hercia brand and philosophy. She grew up under the influence of multiple art and fashion cultures. She considers herself both Caribbean and European to the same extent. The two fundamentally distinct cultures she belongs to, gave her a unique perspective in everything she does.
As a child she was surrounded by arts and craftmanship and at a very early age she developed an outstanding affinity to aesthetics, harmony and beauty.
Her mother was a designer dressmaker, passionate about fashion, visual harmony and elegance. Ivonne from an early age was always around to help. Soon she learned that one of the secrets to a perfect, breathtaking dress is the devotion and artistic vein that allowed Ivonne’s mother to select the highest quality textiles, materials, colors and designs that best matched her clients. The other secret is the absolute precision in every workflow and in every single stitch. This dedication to perfection, quality and art is in the very heart of Ivonne Hercia’s philosophy.
Ivonne Hercia’s jewelry art was also influenced by fine arts. In her family house, she was continuously surrounded by the paintings of contemporary Cuban artists. Her parents were admirers and patrons of local painting that was flourishing in Cuba in the 1980s and 1990s.
Ivonne’s love and passion for pearls started when she was invited to an Indian wedding. For the occasion, she bought herself a pearl necklace. Instantaneously she had the feeling that something was not quite right with the necklace and that she must do something about it. As soon as she got back from her trip, she rearranged the pearls on the string multiple times until she reached a perfect harmony between them.
Since then, Ivonne has been dedicated to finding the most perfect and unique pearls around the world and to creating beautiful, unrepeatable jewelry, lifelong presents, memories and accessories to express your and your loved ones’ unique personalities.
In addition to her impressive design skills, she is also using her extensive professional knowledge base and experience when selecting pearls and creating jewelry. Ivonne acquired one of the most prestigious credentials in the industry, she has a Graduate Pearls Diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) as well as an Applied Jewelry Professional Diploma, from the same institution.
