CRAFTMANSHIP
Each unique, luxurious aesthetic in the Ivonne Hercia collections is a result of the incredible commitment and devotion to the Ivonne Hercia philosophy expressed by the persons involved in the various stages of production.
Our creations start with the design and the selection of the finest pearls, followed by the sawing, forging, casting, soldering and polishing of the clasps by the goldsmith.
Ivonne Hercia is working with some of the most talented and innovative goldsmiths in the region. The seamless and long-standing collaboration between designer and goldsmith allows for our outstanding results and unique jewelry.
After finalizing the design and finishing the elaboration of the clasps, the goldsmith polishes the piece until human eye cannot see any roughness on the surface of the precious metal. But the process does not end here. To elevate the piece to ultimate perfection, Ivonne Hercia gives a final polish to it in order to eliminate the signs and scratches of the fist polishing, that can only be seen in a magnifier. The reason for doing that lies in the Ivonne Hercia philosophy that builds on perfection, quality and art:
“As a jewelry designer, I believe that the smallest detail that you can’t even see with your naked eye can ruin a whole composition. This is why I work towards ultimate harmony and perfection on every single piece of jewelry.”

The final step in the jewelry creation process, in the case of necklaces and bracelets, is pearl knotting, which is a standalone profession requiring specialized knowledge from the artisan. The pearl knotting is always done based on the order and positioning of the pearls pre-defined by Ivonne Hercia, since these are crucial elements of the design. The pearl knotting has to be perfect just like all other steps in the process. Appropriate pearl knotting prevents the shells of the pearls on a necklace or bracelet from being chipped by each other. It also prevents the jewelry from being uncomfortable to wear. The right knotting will allow your pearls to beautifully take on the shape of your neck and chest or wrist, instead of hanging stiff. Finally, pearl knotting is needed to keep all of your pearls from falling off the strand if it break, so no more than one or two pearls drop on the floor instead of all at once.
