DESIGN
All Ivonne Hercia jewelry starts with the inspiration of the designer. Ivonne has endless sources of inspiration in nature, in paintings, movies and even in dresses and clothes.
The design process can take various different routes. Very often a design idea is born when Ivonne gets inspired by a single pearl or set of pearls that she discovers on one of her quests. Sometimes she has a very specific design in mind and collects the materials needed to realize that idea. These designs are often so specific and unique, that it can take up to half a year to find just the right pearls for it. At other times, Ivonne creates bespoke designs for special occasions or for everyday use.

SELECTION OF PEARLS
Ivonne Hercia spends most of her time traveling around the world to find the most unique, beautiful and valuable pearls for her designs. Thanks to her qualifications, craftmanship and sense of beauty she recognizes instantaneously the best pearls that are worth consideration for an interesting design. But the selection doesn’t end there. She spends hours with specific sets of pearls to examine their qualities and colors in all possible light conditions to provide jewelry that are breath taking anywhere you go.
DESIGN OF CLASPS
To achieve absolute harmony in her compositions, Ivonne designs most of the clasps and the locks for the jewelry herself. The type of the precious metal is defined by the design, the pearls and occasionally by the specific preferences of the customer.
The precious metals used in the Ivonne Hercia designs are mostly yellow, red, rose or white gold (14 or 18 carats) or silver (925 carats sterling).
Ivonne Hercia collaborates with the most gifted goldsmiths who can translate her drawings into precise models. The first version of the design then goes through various rounds of adjustments and grinding between Ivonne and the goldsmiths until absolute perfection is achieved.
